Most of transmission pipeline is installed in the dense city area such as location class 3 or 4 as defined ASME B31.8. So it's one of the major objectives for the Japanese gas companies to maintain the safety of the public through PIMS (Pipeline Integrity Management System) . This paper introduces the outlook of transmission pipeline in Japan and personnel's training system of Tokyo Gas co., ltd..
