Development of exhaust heat utilization technology for PEFC co-generation system

This is the reason why it is strongly expected to bring PEFC co-generation system into home. PEFC co-generation is characterized by the outputting not only electricity, but also heat (hot water). In terms of hot water output, Toho Gas has been developing jointly with Rinnai Corporation a hot water supply system for PEFC that, when combined with a PEFC, can be expected to improve energy utilization efficiency and convenience. This system is targeted for commercialization around 2005, and the outlook for commercialization has come from evaluations of operational tests with prototypes and work on improvements up to this point.
