Resumen del autor, extraído del trabajo. The oil & gas industry is poised on the verge of an exciting new frontier regarding the exploration and development of deepwater hydrocarbon accumulations. New technology will be needed to achieve the commercial promise that these immense opportunities offer the industry. Texaco has made a major commitment to be a strong player in this new arena, and has implemented development projects and technology programs that are anticipated to contribute to industry’s rapidly growing knowledge on how to commercialize deepwater discoveries. This poster session will present several approaches that Texaco has used to develop deepwater fields, along with the technology challenges and successes offered by each concept. In addition, the session seeks to offer insights into the further technological advances that can be expected and will be needed to find, develop and operate oil & gas fields in progressively deeper water depths.
