Resumen The economic development of unconventional resources in Vaca Muerta Formation is based on the drilling of horizontal wells, arranged in several vertically stacked navigation levels. Recovery optimization depends largely on an appropriate stratigraphic emplacement of the different drilled lateral sections. Continuous geological monitoring during the vertical drilling phase and the construction of the well curve allows adjustment of the structural and stratigraphic model, reducing the uncertainty in the location of the Landing Point. The main challenge of geosteering is to place the TVDSS (Sub-Sea True Vertical Depth) of the LP (Landing Point) accurately during the deviation phase. This task is essential to make the least number of corrections during drilling and to avoid incorrect landings that will latterly require corrections. The early the adjustments are made, the better, since it allows to build smoother trajectories, highly important for the normal development of well operations (casing, cementing, completion). The objective of this paper is to present a geological monitoring methodology that allows to reduce the stratigraphic / structural uncertainty during the landing stage of horizontal wells. To achieve the stated objective, an interactive Operational Spreadsheet was created, that integrates information on neighboring wells stratigraphy (tops and thickness), which allows a real-time drilling position adjustment according to their interpretation and LP prognosis. This method includes statistical parameters associated with the expected stratigraphic markers position, which defines a limited zone of uncertainty for the LP location. The application of this methodology in Vaca Muerta Formation (La Calera block) reduced the stratigraphic uncertainty of the LP, minimizing the trajectory adjustments during the curve construction phase. This methodology allowed the construction of smoother trajectories and a more accurate well location within the levels of interest. The use of this technique resulted in great operational benefits, especially in those fields with rotating geosteering crews, since it standardizes landing and navigation criteria, reducing stratigraphic and structural uncertainty along the horizontal drains.
