Resumen The Austral Basin is in the southernmost region of South America. The sedimentation of the basin began with effusive and explosive volcanic eruptions of the Serie Tobífera synrift succession. During the last few years, YPF drilled several wells with the Serie Tobifera as an exploratory target, with variable results. During 2018, YPF drilled 4 such wells in the argentinean sector of Tierra del Fuego Island. The aim of this paper is to show the integration of data from 3D seismic, cores, logs, etc., of these wells, and the resulting geological model, and a proposal integration with the data from the chilean side (Covellone 2016; Azpiroz et al. 2018; Atencio et al. 2018). The Serie Tobífera was historically considered as the economic basement of the basin; however, in the 1970s and 1990s some hydrocarbon accumulations were found in Santa Cruz Province, Argentina, and Magallanes Province, Chile. Based on a facies model, we tried to minimize uncertainty in exploration; thus, the facies described in the cores are: lava flow with and without hydrothermal alteration, peperites, block and ash deposits, all phenoandesites and phenodacites. From 2D and 3D seismic analysis, an irregular half graben is construed, which results in a strong variation in the thickness of the volcanic facies of the Serie Tobífera. We interpretate as a grabencaldera setting, a combination of tectonic and volcanic events as an eruption model. There is a strong correlation between oil production and natural fractures, so is fundamental found the relationship between facies and open fractures. The observation of the data shows that there is a tendency of acid rocks to have cooling fractures open, while the basic rocks have their fractures filling with silicic cement. The tectonic fractures are related with tectonics events and go through all facies. From the correlation of facies in cuttings and cores with the seismic interpretation, it is observed that ignimbrites tend to predominate when the Serie Tobífera is thicker and lavas when it is thinner, towards the basement shoulders
