Resumen The Vaca Muerta Formation is characterized by a wide lithological heterogeneity, with facies present both laterally and vertically. The present work aims to differentiate facies by means of their electrical log response. The main objective of the study is to characterize the productive intervals of the Vaca Muerta Formation in the southeast areas area of the Neuquén basin through 3D geological modeling considering the degree of heterogeneity observed in observed in the reservoir. The results of the study will contribute to minimize the risks associated with drilling by relating the lithological characteristics of the different objective layers with the events observed during wells drilling. Petrophysical modeling was carried out in different stages. The first consisted in the interpretation using pre-existing models and adapting the parameters according to the fluid and kerogen properties characterized in each studied area. In addition, facies description in core as well as laboratory X-ray diffraction, X-ray fluorescence, and open hole log data were incorporated into the analysis. This data integration allowed the construction of a detailed lithological model that consisted in the definition of six electrofacies using ternary graphs and principal component analysis. Subsequently, the electrofacies model was replicated in sectors where wells had incomplete electrical logs information, located in strategic positions, and then used as input data to the different static models. This allowed not only to condition the population of the continuous properties (total porosity and water saturation) of the units, but also to analyze the spatial distribution, regional trend, and evolution of these at the sedimentological level. Based on maps plotting and geological models, allows us to draw several conclusions.
