| Resumen | Reservoir quality is defined by its porosity and permeability, which are the result of different factors such as the composition of the rock, sedimentary structures, cements, dissolution processes and fractures. Bioturbation is one of the post-depositional processes that most disturb the initial factory of the deposit. Its effect on the reservoir properties can be important, altering the original heterogeneities of the deposit, resulting in an increase or decrease in porosity and permeability, as well as the alteration of primary sedimentary structures, which alters the overall reservoir properties. The Lajas Formation (Middle Jurassic, Neuquén Basin) is interpreted as deposited in transitional marine environments, mainly deltas and it is composed of fine to coarse sandstone and subordinate conglomerates, with tight characteristics: low porosity and permeability values of around 0.001 to 0.03 mD. The bioturbation in deltaic systems is determined by the influence of the main processes that also redistribute the sediments carried in by the river (river, waves, tide) A core sample from the Lajas Formation in the north area of the Huincul High, is analyzed from the sedimentological, ichnological and petrophysical point of view. The main processes were interpreted and how they affected the bioturbation and the reservoir properties. The results allow determining that in the sections interpreted as deltaic fronts with fluvial influence, bioturbation is very limited, and permeability is not affected, while in areas with marine influence and more bioturbation, permeability is notably decreased. These results allow making predictions regarding the best plays according to their palaeoenvironmental interpretation.. |
