Resumen In past studies we have shown the added value of 4D seismic monitoring (time-lapse) to characterize the stimulated rock volume (SRV) in non-conventional plays in the Vaca Muerta formation (Achilli et al. 2018, Chao et al. 2022a). In this work we present different acquisition, processing and interpretation methodologies aiming at optimizing and reducing turnaround and costs. The objective is to convert 4D monitoring into a plug and play, economically and logistically viable approach in view of using its results to assess day to day operational problematics. The seismic monitoring alternatives presented in this paper were implemented in the framework of a conventional 4D acquisition in a multiwell multilanding pad of four wells with objectives in three different stratigraphic levels (landings). The successful results of the conventional 4D served as a reference to compare the results of the different alternative acquisition and processing approaches. In this way we were able to understand their potential, limitations and weight in their future applications considering the technical results, value of information and cost saving they represent. The alternatives considered to the 4D conventional monitoring with the objective of optimizing costs and reduce time are various. A 4D ISS (Independent Simultaneous Sources) acquisition was performed additionally to the conventional acquisition. Decimation tests were done as well to examine if a larger spacing is sufficient to detect the 4D signal. The use of a vintage 3D seismic as a baseline, that is prior to hydraulic stimulation, in combination with a Monitor acquired after completion of the drains was also investigated. Additionally, to investigate the dynamics of SRV creation and understand the efficiency of successive stimulation stages, consecutives acquisitions were performed after each completion stage to achieve a continuous monitoring of the stimulated rock volume (SRV) formation. This way we can analyze the 4D signal as the stimulation of the pad progresses. Our quantitative analysis is based on 4D inversion results that allows us to image the volume of rock that has been affected during the stimulation, either considering the global completion of the pad or individually for each stage.
