| Resumen | High Viscosity Friction Reducers (HVFR) have become a widely accepted option for hydraulic stimulation treatments in unconventional reservoirs. Due to their rheological properties, they are considered a good alternative to replace conventional guar-based fluids. Besides, they simplify pumping operations, and they are cost-effective. From the reservoir point of view, it is expected that the proppant pack generated after the hydraulic stimulation have less waste material, thus resulting in better conductivities if compared to conventional fluids. This is important because it will certainly lead to more conductive stimulations that, in turn, could reduce the operation costs. The main aim of this work is to use this fluid in a tight gas reservoir located in Neuquén basin, specifically in Río Neuquén field. For that purpose, a viability analysis was done, and a pilot testing was designed. Various simulations were evaluated by using different fracturing software and the impact on conductivity properties were also analyzed. The fluid capability to transport the required mesh, density, and maximum concentration of proppants involved are also examined. Finally, following the planned steps, the pilot testing was carried out and the fluid and its performance were tested in the tight reservoir. The results shown in this work may significantly contribute to a better understanding of HVFR in tight gas reservoirs under outside of their natural shale reservoir conditions. |
