Resumen The Uribe area is located in the southernmost portion or Argentina. Due to its favorable position from a petroleum system point of view, itś been explored from the 60ś to present day with non-economical results. From west to east the tecto-sedimentary evolution reveals two different configurations: initially, a N-S oriented Jurassic rifting filled with more than 500 meters of volcanic and sedimentary? facies that pinchout laterally to a paleo basement paleo high. The resultant relief was flooded by the first transgression of the basin during the Early Cretaceous, represented by shallow water sandstones and shales of Springhill Fm. that are present above the synrift facies. These sandstones are the main reservoir of the basin. On top of these sedimentary rocks, 600 meters of Mesozoic deep water clastic fine-grained deposits are encountered. This unit has a progradational trend, describing a ramp geometry from east to west. The bottom 150-200 meters located in the distal segments are organic rich facies with Type II-III kerogen corresponding to the source rock. Finally, a thick Cenozoic deep water foreland clastic -fine to medium grained- sedimentation evolves from southwest (> 3000 meters) to northeast (up to 2000 meters) overlying the Mesozoic units. A detailed seismic characterization reveals the presence of shingled turbidites considered as an interesting secondary target. A complex tectonic history has been registered through the evidence of extensional and later compressive activity. Normal and reverse faults as well as detachment and fault associated folds are studied. This paper documents the workflow carried out to evaluate the remaining potential of the area.
