Resumen Aguada Pichana Este (APE) is the first producing unconventional dry-gas reservoir of Vaca Muerta formation operated by Total Austral S.A. in partnership with YPF, Wintershall Energy S.A. and Pan American Energy. The pilot phase was finished in 2016. The development is based on the drilling of pads of two or four wells with horizontal drains. The successful development of unconventional plays in Vaca Muerta formation, relies on an equilibrium of cost operations and hydrocarbon productivity per well or fracture stage that assure the profitability of the project. In this sense, from a cost perspective, the acquisition of new data for a better understanding of the reservoir can be frequently challenged. The joint acquisition of data or combined with other operations seems to be a good alternative as long as they comply with HSE policies and guarantee a minimum amount of data to fulfill the objectives. In this sense, in one of the pads of the APE pilots, located outside of the existing 3D seismic coverage, where a vertical exploration well had been drilled on a 2D line; a 3D seismic acquisition was performed in synergy with the completion of the wells of the pad. The new seismic acquisition took advantage of a planned surface microseismic acquisition designed to monitor the hydraulic stimulations. The geophones laid to perform the microseismic were used as receivers in a 3D seismic acquisition adapted to the existing receiver geometry and with double shooting in order to optimize the signal to noise ratio. With this synergy, in the neighborhood of the pad, a set of 3D and 4D seismic data were recorded in addition to the usual focal mechanisms from microseismic. The processing of the data with this unconventional receiver geometry was successful. The acquired small 3D showed a coherent image, continuous with the neighboring 3D regional seismic. The main sequences and landings were identified. The major faults were characterized and the main subseismic faults were mapped. The most innovative information was the 4D signal data which allowed a better understanding and a direct measurement of the SRV (stimulated rock volume)
