| Resumen | Delayed cokers that produce fuel grade petroleum coke are operated for best economics to maximize the production of clean liquid products. When feedstocks for these cokers are high asphaltene content vacuum residues, the resultant minimal coke yield is derived mainly from the asphaltene portion of the feedstock frequently resulting in the familiar shot coke structure. Production of shot coke causes operational issues that need to be dealt with safely and efficiently. |
