| Resumen | Transcripción del abstract original del autor: Recently PEFC (Polymer Electrolyte Fuel Cell) systems have attracted much attention because they are expected to be quickly put into operation, to be assembled into a compact and light-weight system, and to increase electric and thermal energy utilization efficiency. PEFC offers a wide variety of applications, ranging from portable generators, residential cogeneration systems, to automobile engines. A cell-stack in a PEFC system can use only hydrogen as its fuel for electrochemical reactions to generate electricity and is susceptible to degradation by an impurity CO in the fuel. Thus a PEFC system requires a fuel processor that can produce hydrogen with very low CO impurity from practical fuels such as natural gas. This paper descries current status and future prospects of hydrogen production technology at Tokyo Gas, focusing on a new-concept membrane reformer technology for highly-efficient and compact hydrogen production systems, construction and demonstration of hydrogen refueling station using LPG and natural gas feedstock for fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEV) and fuel processing system development for application to PEFC cogeneration systems. |
