| Resumen | Transcripción del abstract original del autor: Composite reinforcement sleeves are used as a permanent repair on damaged transmission pipelines. Gaz de France validated and extended the application range of a composite reinforcement sleeve in order to use this technique for repairing defects on pipelines in France. This article describes the systematic approach used in order to evaluate both fatigue and burst strengths. This approach can be divided into 9 phases: 1. Study range 2. Full-scale tests 3. Numerical model in test configuration 4. Validation of the numerical model 5. Numerical model in real condition 6. Experimental design 7. Numerical simulations 8. Interpolation of the results 9. Software Gaz de France already applied this methodology twice in order to validate the application range of a composite reinforcement sleeve for external metal loss defects with smooth shape (corrosion or dressed gouge) and combined defects (dent and dressed gouge). The key points of the methodology (full-scale tests, numerical model and software) are shown in this article. |
