Resumen Transcripción del abstract original del autor: We developed element technologies for a heat exchanger and pump unit consisting of a heat exchanger, pump, and other equipment, focusing attention on new air-conditioning systems that combine the advantages of central cooling and heating and individual room cooling and heating. We confirmed the formation and operation of the cooling and heating cycles of this system, and are reporting our findings herein. The heat source of this system uses an absorption chiller/heater, and the indoor unit is a general-purpose air conditioner that uses a gas-engine-driven heat pump and related equipment. Water is used to transmit heat vertically through the building, and HFC refrigerant is used to transmit it horizontally through the building. The HFC is conveyed to the indoor unit by a low-head pump. The heat exchange between water and HFC is executed with a heat exchanger installed in the ceiling between each floor. This system offers the following benefits. a) The electric demand can be reduced because a gas-fired absorption chiller/heater is used as the heat source and latent heat is used for cooling/heating heat transmission. b) The total construction cost and installation cost can be reduced. c) The system uses less HFC than is used in a conventional individual room cooling and heating system, because water is used for a portion of the heat transmission. d) The system has no compressor oil, so a more environment-friendly refrigerant can be selected in the future. In the future, we plan to continue studying ways to optimize the heat exchanger and the type of HFC to use.
