Resumen Transcripción del abstract original del autor: In its history of over thirty years since it started handling LNG, Tokyo Gas has accumulated a wealth of advanced technological expertise and know-how through our business activities, which have included construction, operation, and maintenance. In order to provide a stable supply of even lower priced city gas now and in the future, it is necessary to achieve greater efficiency in the maintenance and management of our aged facilities that are critical to city gas production processes and other processes, in addition to reducing the cost of LNG terminal construction, operation, and maintenance while maintaining reliability. By moving ahead with the development and implementation of technology in the area of instrumentation equipment, which also requires an increased level of maintenance and control, Tokyo Gas has achieved these improvements. In this paper, we will discuss the following as case studies of our technological achievements involving instrumentation equipment that have contributed to recent increases made in the level of LNG terminal control: 1) Case studies aiming for automated operation of facilities 2) Case studies contributing to the maintenance and improvement of safety levels at aged facilities. 3) Case studies demonstrating improved reliability and achieving a high level of functionality by applying the latest sensing technology to facilities. The technological achievements discussed here can be applied at the LNG terminals of other companies, as well as to those of Tokyo Gas, and have potential for applications in gas analyzers, such as those in fuel cell research. We expect the fruits of these technological developments to be applied broadly throughout Japan and abroad.
