Outcrop analogs play a central role on the understanding of subsurface reservoir architectures. The comparison between subsurface and outcrops data, allows to determine conceptual schemes and modelling reservoir parameters, in order to decrease the risk during the oil fields exploration and development stages. Considering that, we analysed the fracture systems of the Quintuco Formation in cores of Loma La Lata oil field, as well as in the target facies that crop out in a key place of the Agrio Fold and Thrust Belt (Sierra de la Vaca Muerta; SVM) and in the Huincul Arch (Picún Leufú Anticline; APL). The fracture systems were analysed by means of traditional methods, combined with scanlines and areal stations approaching. This study determined that the fracture network is characterized by compaction bands (BC), deformational zones, stilolytes, and aperture and shear discrete fractures. The compaction bands are better represented in shales, whereas deformational zones and stilolytes are restricted to carbonate rocks. Some of those fracture types were recognized in the outcrops of Sierra de la Vaca Muerta (stilolytes, compaction bands, deformational zones, and aperture and shear fractures) and Picún Leufú Anticline (aperture and shear fractures) in rocks of the similar characteristic than the ones found in subsurface. The results obtained allow to correlate aspects of the fractures network in both systems and therefore predict their timing of deformation. These analogies lead to a better characterization of the naturally fractured reservoir.
