Current solutions and challenges in depth imaging for complex geology areas Today, depth imaging is almost a routine in the E&P industry. An exploration or a development well is not typically approved if it is not supported by seismic data migrated in depth and properly calibrated with wells – if they exist in the study area. In this paper, I describe workflows currently in use for anisotropic depth imaging. I will explain the current available solutions and limitations of the methods used in the industry. The challenges in this important topic will be discussed along with a brief overview of the depth imaging emergent technologies. These topics will be illustrated with model and real data set.
