Eventos microsísmicos anómalos en el monitoreo de la estimulación hidráulica de la Fm Vaca Muerta en Loma La Lata - 13 p.

Anomalous microseismic events recorded during a hydraulic fracturing in Loma La Lata, Vaca Muerta formation Hydraulic fracture stimulation is being used in Loma La Lata field, Neuquén, Argentina for unconventional shale oil and gas main targets in Quintuco-Vaca Muerta units. This technology is complemented frequently with microseismic monitoring in order to better understand the geometry of the resulting fractures. In this paper a case study is discussed in which a set of anomalous microseismic events was observed after the end of the 5th stage of a hydraulic stimulation treatment. These events show: 1) higher magnitudes than the mean for a normal stage 2) distinct and isolated clustering of the events 3) time of occurrence after the end of the pumping program. The analysis of the available data suggests the reactivation of a previously existing fault as a possible cause of the unexpected events.
