At this current time, it is practically impossible to predict what 2009 has in store for the oil services and drilling related companies in the Russian market, writes Datamonitor's Andrew Reid. Budgets are changing constantly as major oil and gas producers find it difficult to commit to spending programmes throughout the supply chain. Whilst announcements have been made directionally by E&P operators of their spending intentions, the allocation of capital to drilling, equipment and construction, for example, have yet to be firmed up. Uncertainty thus persists within the market as to what 2009 will hold for activity levels
