Corrosion rate model for 8% Chromium cold-work tool steels in tannic acid
Winkelmann, H.
Corrosion rate model for 8% Chromium cold-work tool steels in tannic acid - feb. 2011 - 5 p. ; 025006
Transcripción del resumen del autor. Different cold-work tool steels have been treated with different heat treatments. The remaining Cr content within the matrix was calculated using thermodynamic and phase diagram calculations (for multi-component systems [TPC]). Corrosion tests were performed in tannic acid, and the corrosion rate for these materials was investigated. A logarithmic two-parameter corrosion rate model with heat treatment as constant parameter could be found with a 98.9% correlation coefficient. It is shown that, considering corrosion rate, there exists a heat treatment parameter that is as important as the Cr matrix content.
