Cold-spray coatings of Al allows were applied to ZE41A-T5 Mg and evaluated for corrosion resistance. The coatings were found to be effective barriers to salt water corrosion. High-purity Al coatings provided the best galvanic compatibility with Mg. Coatings of commercially pure Al, AA5356, and AA4047 caused galvanic currents -50 times greater than high-purity Al.
