Resumen original del autor: Increasingly stringent Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system performance requirements for high nitrogen oxides (NOx) emission control with low ammonia slip demand proper distribution of flow, temperature, and reactant concentrations at the inlet to the catalyst bed. Analysis and comparison of reactor performance and outlet profiles regarding the extent of inlet parameter maldistribution is essential to the development of cost-effective design concepts and assessing their adequacy over operating ranges. This paper examines SCR reactor performance profiling as a means of predicting the consequences of inlet maldistribution and determining the theoretical and practical limitations of a system design.
