Some encouraging signs from the UK North Sea? - 3 p.

Offshore exploration activity on the UK Continental Shelf has not rebounded from the oil price slump of the late -1990s and soon the country will no longer be selfsufficient. After more than 30 years of oil and gas production, the industry and government must now strike a balance between importing gas and fiscal regime that encourages wildcatting for new reserves and maximising production from "fallow" fields.
