Solar Turbines has provide the oil and gas industry with more than 4,200 gas compressors operating around the world, both onshore and offshore. A design approach that focuses on specific needs of the industry has led to development of compressors that incorporate a modular design consisting of pre-engineered components. To continuously provide cutting edge products, Solar has made significant investments in the development and application of computational tools for aerodynamics, rotor-dynamics and structural calculations, and by building a state-of-the-art Aerodynamic Test Facility (ATF). Production and site tests are also continuously used to increase Solar's knowledge base.
