Transcripción del abstract original del autor: In Japan, Gas-engine Heat Pumps (GHPs) have experienced fairly widespread diffusion since they were first marketed in 1987. In 2001, a total of about 50,000 units were sold. Along with the expansion of installation, gas companies have constructed setups for active maintenance of GHPs and contributed to the their spread. The major tasks for their further spread are provisions for even smoother maintenance work and increase in the degree of customer satisfaction. With these tasks in mind, we launched development of a system for remote monitoring and control of GHPs. This report presents the development of new services, which were made possible by installation of this system, for failure (breakdown) prediction, remote diagnosis of failure causes, and remote control of air conditioners.
