Development of low emissions condensing Tele -controlled 400-4000 KW Gas Fired Water Boiler Systems (COMBO) - 17 p.

Transcripción del abstract original del autor: This paper describes a project funded by the European Community called COMBO with the objective to develop pre-prototypes of gas fired water heating boiler systems in the power range of 400kW to 4000 kW, which have a thermal efficiency of 95% (gross heating value) and emit less than 20mg/kWh NOx. The boiler systems consist of a cascade of 400 kW-modules controlled by a master controller that has a tele-service connection via Internet or GSM with a Central Tele-servicing Office for control and (preventive) maintenance. Compared to the current available cascade boilers, the COMBOsystem has a thermal efficiency that is at least 10% higher and a NOx-emission that is at least a factor 5 lower. Besides the project set-up certain features of the boiler system are highlighted in the paper: * Efficient operation by cascading modules of 400kW and using a supervisory control system. * Low level pollutant emissions by using radiant surface burners with new materials. * High energy efficiency due to the use of condensing systems. * Compactness of the modules by using sophisticated heat exchangers. * An European project with 11 partners supported by the EC.
