Transcripción del abstract original del autor: Carbon dioxide reforming of natural gas produces synthesis gas with a high carbon monoxide to hydrogen ratio, which is desirable for many synthesis processes. This reaction also has very important environmental implications because carbon dioxide contributes to the greenhouse effect. Converting carbon dioxide into a valuable feedstock may reduce the atmospheric emissions of carbon dioxide. In this paper, we present the superior catalysis of the catalyst prepared using water-in-oil (w/o) microemulsion for the carbon dioxide reforming of natural gas. The Al2O3-supported Ni catalyst prepared by this method exhibited a high activity and a strong resistance to carbon deposition in this reforming. We also investigated the catalysis of the SiO2-supported Fe catalysts prepared by this method for the hydrogenation of carbon monoxide, which is the process to convert synthesis gas to valuable oxygenated chemicals. The catalyst exhibited an excellent activity and a superior selectivity to C2+ oxygenates.
