An opportunity for commercialization of natural gas to ethylene through direct conversion - 1 p. - Bagherzadeh, E. .
Resumen del autor, extraído del trabajo. Two specific factor pushes Iran towards the conversion of natural gas to petrochemical feed stock and especially ethylene. These factors are: the need for utilization of significant gas reserves of Iran (23 tcm or 14% of the world gas reserves), and the expanding interest of the world in environmental friendly products including no-sulfur fuel and naphtha. Presently majority of processes for conversion of N.gas to liquid fuel or ethylene is not commercially viable. This poster compares existing processes for conversion from various point of view, including: capital requirements, economies of scale, and catalyst performance, and shows there is a possibility for commercialization of oxidation coupling of methane (OCM) over pyrochlores type catalyst prepared by Sol-Gel method. The experiments yields C2+ of 17-18% at 750-830 degree of centigrade in atmospheric pressure over Sm2Sn2O7 catalyst. = WPC (16th.)
