Options for utilization of remote gas sources in the middle east - 2 p. - Izadi, M. .

Resumen del autor, extraído del trabajo. Throughout the world, natural gas reserves are sometimes located in areas where not enough residential or industrial development has taken place. This is especially true in the Middle East. Considering the great investments required to develop natural gas reserves and market the product the prospective investors are faced with the economic viability of such investments. If the gas reserve is large and the target production rate could be set high enough, the question of economic feasibility could be analyzed based on marketing the gas as the primary final product. But when the gas production rate for any reason is small and where the source location is far from the market, depending on the situation, the investor is faced with a number of options for marketing the gas. In this article, four options for utilization of natural gas, namely, sales, injection for enhanced oil recovery (EOR), electricity generation and methanol production will be investigated and compared. = WPC (16th.)
