The Barents-Kara oil and gas bearing superprovince, the oil region near Sakhalin, about 30 fields have been discovered there. The production has not been started yet, but 6 regions have been prepared and by 2010 it will be possible to produce not less than 50-60 mln t of oil and about 100 billion m3 of gas.
