Paleozoic gas exploration in Eastern Saudi Arabia during the last decade - 13 p. - Norton, Kent .

Resumen del autor, extraído del trabajo. The 1990’s were an exciting time for Saudi Aramco Exploration. Numerous new oil and gas fields were found throughout the Kingdom including Tertiary oil and gas along the Red Sea coast; Paleozoic (Pre-Khuff) oil and gas in Northwestern, Central, and Eastern Saudi Arabia; and extensive delineation and reserves additions to existing Khuff gas fields. This paper highlights the Pre-Khuff sweet gas and condensate discoveries of Eastern Saudi Arabia (Figure 1) and focuses on the hydrocarbon geology of the primary exploration plays there; including sourcing and trapping of these hydrocarbons in the Devonian Jauf Reservoir and reservoirs of the Carboniferous to Permian Unayzah Formation. = WPC (16th.)
