From cross sectional seismic interpretation, some Lobe-shaped anomalies were interpreted. Those anomalies are related with gas-bearing, tertiary reservoirs, which is of great interest since they lie in shallow depths and those reservoirs have free gas only. The anomalies were characterized from the pre-and post-stack seismic record; different seismic attributes maps were made (spectral decomposition, sweetness, Hilbert Transform, etc.), in order to define their geometry. Then, a seismic facies classification PCA was made to obtain rock-type characterization supported by well-log data. Since the AVO analysis is useful for fluid characterization, a qualitative AVO analysis was performed in this case of study. From this analysis, a number of workovers were identified. Three wells were intervened in order to perforate the reservoirs associated with seismic anomalies in Salamanca Formation (Maastrichtiano-Daniano). The flow-in test proved gas in all of them, with low CO2 content and static pressure.
