In 2016, a new seismic vibroseis data set was acquired over the Neuquén Basin in Argentina. The survey was acquired and processed using a wide frequency spectrum toward the low (below 2Hz). This was the first implementation of this technology in Argentina.This survey was designed using the same resources (equipment and time) as a conventional survey and was necessary to perform tests of source parameters that show that this bandwidth is generated in compliance with the quality specifications of the frequencies usually employed. The trucks vibrators are able to start the sweep in frequencies below 2 Hz.The general processing workflow was comparable to that for conventional land acquisition. The flow includes additionally steps to mitigate the noises in the extended bandwidth in low frequency (ground roll) in a selective manner, preserving the reflection signals that were usually dimmed completely. On the receiver side, the distortion introduced by the equipment ś response, in this case from some Hertz above 10 to the low end, was addressed.The improvement in the predictability of simultaneous inversion in this area was confirmed on a line that passes through six wells. Differences were observed to show improvement in the low-frequency model that incorporated the seismic.
