The Campamento 1 field is located in the Huincul Arch and it is one of the few fields in the Neuquen Basin that produces from the basement. Its composition includes Granites, Granodiorites and Monzodiorites. A structural interpretation was made on the 3D seismic volume identifying an important number of faults which delimit the main blocks of the reservoir. Simultaneous trace inversion process was run to link best reservoir properties with P Impedance and Youngś Modulus. A complex deformation history was interpreted after a detailed drill cores study. It started with ductile (mylonites) and fragile (breccias and cataclasites) deformations, followed by the generation of discrete fracture planes and fragile deformation bands. The borehole images interpretation allowed to calculate fracture intensity curves. These showed zones with different vertical fracture intensity. The information was then used to make fracture intensity maps as well as an input for the petrophysical analysis. Petrophysical characterization was performed using Aguileraś methodology. A variable cement exponent (m) was calculated and used as input to estimate fracture porosity values. A partition coefficient estimated from porosity curves, indicates how storage is distributed between fracture and matrix. Correlation with well productivity allowed to conclude that best productive zones are not only related with fracture intensity but also with matrix porosity (high storage capacity) and proximity to the source rock. An on-going Discrete Fracture Network model will be used as input for the dynamic model and will help to understand the hydrocarbon distribution in the field and the chance for remnants opportunities.
