Online resources: In: Summary: The Mesa Verde oil field is 65 km south of Mendoza city. After a long story of exploration efforts, the discovery well was completed in 2015 at a depth of 3200 m. It currently produces 300 m3/d and the peak has not been reached yet. The Reservoirs of this field are in the Río Blanco formation (Late Triassic). Integrated subsurface information allows to recognize two productive members, the lower member as part of a fluvial-lacustrine system and the upper member dominated by fluvial processes with a high content of pyroclastic material. The combination of a homoclinal structure and petrophysical variations, due to stratigraphic and diagenetic changes, are responsible of the emplacement of a new oil field, related to the flexural flank of Tierras Blancas depocenter, separated from Tupungato depocenter by an accommodation zone, and dominated by the influence of Alto Verde paleo-high
