Mature Gas Reservoir, Static Model. Puesto Touquet. Neuquén Basin. Argentina Puesto Touquet is a gas and condensate field located to the south of the Huincul High in the Neuquén Basin. The cumulative production since 1996 from the Los Molles Formation is 34 BCF. In order to estimate the remaining potential, and to identify the most convenient development strategy at this mature stage, a static model was developed and a dynamic simulation was performed. The model is based on the reinterpretation of seismic, well, and petrophysical data. From this model eight reservoirs were identified. Seven of them belong to the Cutral-Có Member of the Molles Formation, deposited as fan delta lobes. Above, and separated by an important erosion surface, lies the eighth, the Canal Rojo reservoir which is interpreted as being deposited in a marine subaqueous channel system, with at least two different channel fill episodes. The lowermost six reservoir units are separate hydraulic units, whereas the uppermost two, informally named Amarillo Superior and Canal Rojo, share the same gas-water contact, thus composing a single producing unit.
