Effective stimulation treatment in a difficult completion

By: Contributor(s): Description: 2 pSubject(s): In: Journal of Petroleum Technology Vol. 57, no. 7 (jul. 2005) ; p. 48-49Summary: Achieving effective stimulation across zones not readily accesible is a common challenge in the oil field. The full-lenght paper presents a case history in wich a sandstone reservoir not previously matrix acidized was producing at low rates and eventually died. The zones were completed between straddle packers and were accesible only trough a sliding side door (SSD) 100 ft above the perforations. A true fluidic oscilator (TFO) was included as a stimulation tool. This tool provides a continuous pressure pulse that causes solids buildup in the perforations to fatigue and break up while the acid system works on the rock matrix.
