Transcripción del abstract original del autor: The world continues to see an increase in the demand for natural gas as a primary energy source. Its inherent advantages - clean and efficient combustion, low greenhouse gas emissions compared to other hydrocarbon fuels and ample availability across the globe - have led to the overcoming of the traditional technical and commercial challenges associated with the delivery of gas from remote resource to end-user. Australia is blessed with large, undeveloped reserves of natural gas, and ranks as one of the global top 10 holders of natural gas resources. Compared with the penetration of natural gas in markets such as America and Europe, natural gas utilisation within Australia is limited. Australia’s share of the global exports of natural gas is also relatively modest. However the expectation is that Australia will see significant growth in the use of natural gas for export as well as for domestic use over the coming decades. Australia's vast natural gas resources, its proven reliability as a supplier and the strong relationships that it has forged in the Asia Pacific region give it the ability to compete in the increasingly global market place for natural gas. But it faces keen competition from the Middle East, Russia and the South East Asian gas projects. In order to realize its full potential, Australia will continue to require innovative and creative commercial approaches to gas marketing. Through this approach Australia has the capacity to act as an increasingly important anchor in the ever more complex and demanding LNG world.
